Brea had a good number of Verizon models and a few WiFi, but no AT&T. GSM models are obviously being saved for the international launch.

    No GSM at SCP either.

Really? So the fact that they did not have laptops with mainstream mobile quad core CPUs before Sandy Bridge when every other computers manufacturer had them is "immaterial" now? With LTE it's the same story all over. After they finally get in a year or two you'll probably be able to say again that it's immaterial. I bet it's very material to those who want iPhone with LTE now. Another major problem here is that Apple sticks to having just one model of iPhone (CDMA vs GSM differences aside). As if all people wanted the same thing. They don't.

Of course not all people want the same thing. That's why Apple isn't the only phone manufacturer in the world. You don't like their phone? Buy somebody else's.

The 21.5'' has a 512MB GPU while the 15'' MBP has a 1GB GPU, same chipset. There's no reason why would they do this except to push potential buyers to the 27''. This is ridiculous. If it were to keep the iMac price down, they would've added as a BTO.

    Ridiculous.

That's typical Apple. Intel chipset does not support USB 3.0? No USB 3.0 for Apple fans!

It's not built into the current Intel platform standards. That doesn't mean it doesn't support it. Most of Intel's reference boards even include it.

NVIDIA GPUs do not work with SandyBridge? Stick with outdated C2D CPUs for years.

Nvidia GPUs work fine with the Sandy Bridge platform. The problem was that they were not licensed to make chipsets for intel processors past the Montevina platform.

What's more important - CPU/chip or case? In case of Apple, the case always wins. Apple is all about image. Once designed, the case should stay unchanged for many years. Apple will wait until somebody designs a "suitable" chip. Is not it kind of backward?

Apple is using the same CPUs as everyone else, for which their enclosures are extremely competitive in terms of dimensions.

Then we hear excuses from Apple fans why Apple could not use separate USB 3.0 controller. This would require redesign of the motherboard - Wow! Think of it - redesigning a motherboard! Some companies redesign tens of motherboards every year but Apple? No way. Now iPhone users will be stuck with outdated technology for a year or two and they will be feeding us all kinds of excuses why LTE can not be used in iPhone. Just ridiculous.

There's no question that two radio chips would have caused the tiny logic board inside the iPhone 4 to grow. That means the battery gets smaller or they make some other sort of sacrifice which potentially changes the housing. Too much work to release the same iPhone on a different network, especially since apple wouldn't want to sacrifice battery life.

Since apple has to design to the greatest common denominator, I doubt they'd increase the size of the phone given the number of outspoken size critics on this forum.

Its clear Apple is missing something in the midrange desk top line. Its time for the Cube or Macintosh or headless iMac or Max Mini or something. iMac isnt for everyone and the world has billions of big beautiful displays just waiting for a midrange Mac but if Apple prices it again the same as the towers it will be another failure. Its way past time for the next Macintosh. Needs a real GPU, at least 1 expansion slot and should be priced right along with ugly iMac:D or a pinch below.

I couldn't agree more. A Conroe machine would fit this bill nicely. I don't have $2500 to spend on a CPU, but want a more powerful desktop. Not that a Mac is a mere PC, but the VAST majority of Windoze PCs are under $600. Why not put out a $700-1000 Mac? Increase the market share even more. Of course then Wal-Mart would want them, a sure sign of the end...

If you clear your cache and refresh, you'd see the image you are hotlinking to isn't displaying. ;)

Its just a low res image saying go to "my digital life".

Oh, I see. Yeah that's what I saw in the quote of my post but I saw the correct one in my original so I thought that worked. Haha huge fail on me trying to get a point across.

Lol ok buddy. Hope your not waiting for there to be a backlit keyboard in the air because I doubt there will be. Apple took it out of the MBA for a reason not for the heck of it

If you're alluding to the theory that Apple took it out to 'differentiate' it from the macbook pro's, I still don't get that concept.

I mean, if you want to differentiate your higher end products from the lower end ones, you ADD features to the higher end one. You DON'T remove features that were once standard for years on the lower end machine.

***It's like if Ford all the sudden removed air conditioning on all but their high end cars - saying that's a 'luxary' feature for their high end vehicles. We'd ALL cry BULL.....!!! Same thing has happened with the MBA.

it looks to me that we are still ranked 59. and the next group is about to pass us!

but yes, talking about it more here helps out quite a bit. the more we interact here, the better

We lost our spot again. We passed Team Lithuania for a brief time as yesterday was a big day for us and a bad one for them.

    Why amazon?

If I may, because Amazon sells 12 bags cheaper (per unit) than any other store. About once every 4-6 months I buy 12 bags of Haribo Gummi Bears for under $14.00. If you were to buy a 5 oz bag in store, you'd be paying at least $2.99, on a super good day. For me though, I need to put them away someplace where I'll likely forget or I'll eat a bag a day in place of a meal.

    Are you guys for real?

I'm not really into apple or apple products, but there is no big mystery behind the string ix.Mac.MarketingName (except for 'Mac', that is)

'ix' is and object or a variable in whatever programming language they've written this in.

'Mac' and 'MarketingName' are either methods or keys (in a hash) belonging to the 'ix' variable/object.

Let me illustrate with a simple javascript/JSON variable:

    var ix = {

My College has a trip there every winter for five days. Luckily I am able to go this year so I am pumped big time.

We went last year for 4 days, got a major snow storm on our way there with a rental car with all season tires and the GPS told us to go up the mountain route instead of the highway. Took us about 8 hours instead of 5. It was well worth it, fresh snow. :D

Are you sure it wasn't UK forces who eliminated him? Either way, you gotta say "he was killed by allied forces".

So who gets the bounty? IIRC there was a $25 million price on his head.

Those iPhones in the photo are the exact same size, just a simple case of forced perspective. The White iPhone is tilted ever so slightly to give the illusion of increased size.

I can't believe people watch this show. I tried watching it to see what the fuss is all about.....it seems like such a formulaic cheesy sitcom.

I love Bill Maher's take on the whole thing:

I watched it once and was also amazed it was so popular. It's so run-of-the-mill.

Sold out in 8 hours??? What on earth is this? A Hannah Montana concert? Dang it, I was gonna go too

I doubt if Hannah Montana could fit this in her schedule. The sexual frustration of the audience she would feel going on stage at WWDC would keep her from singing.
